| This piano is a wonderful beginning instrument for young children. There was minimal assembly, and the piano arrived quickly. It has a beautiful finish and comes with a song book and key chart. My son is only 3 so right now he enjoys just creating new "music," but as he gets older, i'm sure the color-coded key chart and music book will help him learn the notes by name. The sound quality is also good, not annoying like other similar products. |

| This was absolutely wonderful for my year old nephew! I would not suggest it for children over three, as it is pretty small. The sound is not fantastic (it sounds like a child's xylophone), but isn't annoying like other models. All in all it is a great buy and a wonderful introduction to piano for toddlers. |

| My children loved this piano and even started reading music with a little encouragement. It felt like a grown up piano to them, which was what we were looking for. Others might be discouraged that it is a chime sound rather than more like a real piano. |

| My daughter loves the Piano. The labels on the keys are color coordinated to the book and that is wonderful! She is so excited that she can read the music and play a song out of the book. |

My neice couldnt stop playing this piano on xmas. I know her mother didnt think it was a good idea after 10 minutes of banging on it...Once she learned how to follow the colors with the book she sounded good...lol
Hopefully she will b on the grammys in a few years all because of Auntie

| This was a Christmas present for our 2 year old. She loves it. We had the smaller melissa and doug piano and she kept putting it on her table and doing Elmos World song..we knew we had to get her one to sit at. The design is cute and it gets played with everyday..I do daycare and even the one year olds love getting up to it and banging on it. You won't be disappointed in it!! |
All in all, we love it

| The piano is beautiful and very sturdy. The sound is a bit off key and has more of a chime to it than an actual piano would but since it is just an introductory piano we don't really mind. All in all, I would recommend this to anyone. |

My daughter loves her new piano. I am glad I purchased the Melissa and Doug piano over other brands.
It's well made and was assembled in minutes. |

This is a pretty, four-legged piano with helpful color-coded keys. We purchased it as our big "Santa" gift to my daughter for Christmas. It arrived quickly and was extremely easy to put together. My daughter, who is almost 5, was delighted when she saw it and enjoys tinkering on it. I suppose our only complaint is that it does not really sound like a piano. It is definitely a toy and sound like one. Overall, though, we're happy with our purchase.
Update....we had twin boys last year. This toy is the first thing the (now) one year-olds want to see when they wake up and run in the play room. They love banging on it and making "music" and the keys are not too loud as to drive everyone crazy. It is apparently sturdy enough to handle the delightful hammering of two small boys. We still love it! |

I bought this for my granddaughter's 5th birthday and she loves it. It is sturdy (both the piano & bench) and well made. The sound is not quite
as good as a regular piano but it has a pleasant sound. I am glad I bought this particular piano! |
Purchased this piano for daughter's 2nd b-day.

| My daughter is a couple inches short of being 3' tall. This piano is the PERFECT size for her. I believe the piano is recommended for 4 yr olds and up, but I think it will be too small for them. She loves it. It was a great buy and a great price. One of the keys doesn't work properly, but she doesn't mind. A+ Buy. |
Great toy for your child!

| My daughter loves this toy! It is the first thing she plays with when she wakes up! It seems pretty durable. She feels like a big girl on her own piano. She loves it! The piano has a nice finish and is fancy. It is neat that when she is older she can play songs easily. The keys being color coded along with the correlating song book makes it easier for a beginner. |
Melissa and Doug Grand Starter Piano

| This is a good starter piano. After I bought this, I saw a similar, less expensive model in Toys R Us. The keys on this model are color coded and this piano is more durable. The outer appearance is like piano but, the music from the is very basic and does nto sound like a piano. Over priced for the money. |

| The piano is cute as is the picture with the little girl playing it. So cute I was duped into buying it last Christmas. As another reviewer said, the sound is horrible and one of the keys didn't work correctly on my daughter's piano. I can't bear to get rid of it because of it's cuteness, but it has only amused my now four-year-old for a few minutes at a time. I was hoping for something that would last until she matured a little further. Or maybe I should have bout this when she was two. My overall rating of three is because of (you guessed it) its cuteness. |

I purchased two Melissa and Doug pianos for my two grandchildren for Christmas presents. I received my shipment on Dec 15. On December 23 I opened the box which was to contain 2 pianos and found only one. I called UPS to see if I was missing a box--no. I called FatBrains Toys and receive a message that "the elves have gone home to be with their families for Christmas" Me with no Christmas present for my grandchildren. I called and emailed Melissa and Doug put their mailbox was full. There was no backorder of the item and I was billed for two.
Finally, after much complaining and being without a Christmas present for one of my grandchildren, I received the second piano on December 31. The only way I received the second piano was because they sent me someone else piano. Perhaps that were my original went. |

| Okay, so my 1 year old son was facinated with this piano. But it sounds horrible. I mean Awful. In fact, we were afraid that the sound, which is very and very and VERY off tune, will ruin his musical inclination. I dont mind the chime - but its too off tune. So we packed it up and back it goes. |
Very disappointed Mom

| I was so excited when my son received this as a birthday gift and he loves to sit and bang on it for a few minutes at a time. But when I tried to play some of the songs for him from the Songbook, I couldn't even recognize the songs half the time because the piano is so off key. Particularly the E. I was further disappointed with the songbook because it doesn't feature notes, just large color circles with the letter of the key in the middle that don't quite fit over the staff, so if you are interested in your child learning to read music, this will not be very useful. We are not planning to keep the piano, I'm just looking for a replacement (perhaps a keyboard) so that I can make the switch. |
