Whether you're riding high, singing the blues or just waiting on a train, this harp from Hohner will get you through the day. A longtime favorite of many Country artists, the Old Standby has standard tuning, and this model is in the key of C. Take it with you anywhere. Nothing like an old friend to get you through the day. | Hohner Diatonic Harmonicas For 150 years, Hohner's diatonic harmonicas set the industry standard through high quality construction, excellent response and unsurpassed tone. Often called Blues Harps, they remain a fixture in blues, rock, country, folk, and many other styles of music. Traditional Richter tuning and undivided air channels allow for techniques such as bending and overblowing reeds, creating the signature wailing sound typical of the harmonica. The Old Standby The Old Standby lives up to its name, with solid Hohner construction to keep it by your side for years to come. Perfect for new players to veteran bluesmen alike, this harp is 4 inches long, with 10 holes and 20 plastic reeds (like most diatonics). The plated cover features the classic Old Standby anchor graphic. | This harmonica, although cheap, does the job and sounds great! A good value that has given me lots of fun. I have many harmonicas and this is one of my two favorites. |

| I bought this for my fiancée as a starter harmonica and she loves it. It looks nice, plays fine, and seems sturdy. I bought an instruction DVD for beginning harmonica to accompany it and it has been a useful addition. I have no complaints about this harmonica (though I have no particular expertise with harmonicas). It is serving its purpose as a beginner harmonica. |
Nice Harmonica, plays good.

| It's pretty good. Althought it's a "Made in China" one and you can notice the non first-classy materials, the sound is pristine clear. Also, the product brings a sheet with instructions, which resulted pretty useful. If you're a beginner/amateur harm player, this is your one. |
Nice Harmonica

| We bought this for my son's second birthday. It is so lovely that we hesitated to give it to him, luckily he received another from a friend so my husband has decided to try to learn to play this one. It sounds very lovely. I like that the case for it is hard plastic and waterproof. Nice to taking camping. |

| This harmonica seems to me to be good for beginners. Right now as a little side hobby I decided to teach myself a little music and the instrument I chose is the harmonica. It seems to work fine and seems durable. Good if youre just starting out and following the idiots guide series on teaching yourself harmonica. They recommend getting one in key of c by a good brand. |
It is great for this price

| Wonderful harmonica. Solid build, hard plastic body with metal plating. Please note, this harmonica is made in China, I guess that is why price is lower. Still I would definitely recommend |

| My 4 year old granddaughter loves this harmonica. From the moment she opened it she kept picking it up and playing it. The sounds are so true that she was always able to make a pretty melody or chord sound. Great for grandparents ears. |
Great Sound!

| I bought this for my nine year old daughter, and she loves it. The sound is soothing and dosen't wake up my newborn when she pratices. She is learning the recorder in school, and has to limit pratice time because of the hi pitch, and loudness. I wish the schools would teach this instead. It would save all our ears, and its fun to play. I am going to order myself one. |

| Well, its Chinese made which quality wise raises a red flag with me (no pun intended). Besides that it makes a good starter harmonica for someone who wants to learn how to play one. |
Good for the money

Old Standby is an apt name. The fit and finish is not as good as the $30 Hohners like the Golden melodies, but it is far better than the plastic toys you normally find at this price point.
This is the cheapest harmonica that you could actually play for several years and not be dissatisfied. A great bargain.
One note is the box it comes in does not flip open like most Hohners, it pulls apart in two halves and so is harder to use and reuse. |
simply great!

I like this product becase it is reasonable and good stuff.
I was longing for starting to play instrument. But it was very hard to find to start because I knew nothing about playing music even though I like to listen to. So I picked this product up because I thought If I would dislike it, I would not mind because It is cheap.
Hoever, I am very satisfied with Hohber Old Standly Harmonica, Key of C because I still play harmonica!
Aloso, I met a very wonderful woman the other day and I told her I play harmonica a bit. and then she liked it a lot. That made my day! |

| I have played the Hohner American Ace for years and recently decided to try some of their other low cost harmonicas. I liked the Pocket Pal but do not like the Old Standby at all. |
