Great little gift for little ones

| I bought my son this harmonica at a toy store for a little more money, but it was worth every penny. He's only fourteen months but has already found his musical talent in this simple instrument. The plastic is sturdy and the sound is unmistakably Hohner. He's stepped on it, bitten it, and spit all over it and it seems to be holding up just fine (he's always supervised while playing his harmonica). I would recommend this toy, I mean, instrument to anyone who needs to buy a gift or wants to introduce their kids to music at any age. In fact, I'm buying more to give away. |
Considering the price .... very nice

| Quality and sound are similar to other low-end Hohners. A little quieter than most and certainly less expensive. Purchased four. All reeds work well. Loved the colors. Plastic has no taste or smell. Smooth playing action. I wish I had 100 to give away as gifts to friends and family. Perfect first musical instrument or as a stocking stuffer. |
A good value

Don't let the colorful, toy-like appearance of this harmonica fool you. It comes with a label reminding you that "this is a musical instrument, not a toy", and such it is: a standard-size, 10-hole diatonic in the key of "C". It's made from mostly plastic, but is of sturdy construction, and relatively light in weight. The reeds and screws are brass. The reeds aren't absolutely pitch-perfect, but sound good. It comes with a rather thin and cheap transparent vinyl pouch for storage.
It was playing one of these instruments (as an adult) that got me excited about learning the harmonica. I've since bought one for each of my children, and they love them. All things considered, this is a good harmonica for the price. If you need an inexpensive harmonica to try out, carry around, or give to a child who's interested in the harmonica, one that you won't make you scream if it accidentally gets damaged, this is the one for you. |
Harmonica good cheep and YELLOW as requested.

| Harmonica good cheep and YELLOW as requested. I was worried about the color as they don't have an option for that but I emailled them and they sent the one I wanted. Quickly too. As I can not play the harp I can not opin about the quality but I LIKE it. |
Lots of Fun

I wanted something inexpensive and colorful to outfit my infant's instrument collection. This one is proving more difficult for our 10 month old to play than the kazoo (the opposite of daddy), but I'm sure he'll eventually get it and then I'll have to buy one for myself to play with.
Seems durable, the plastic is nice to use since I know some metal harmonicas can have a metallic taste to them.
It's actually very easy to make sounds that are musical and easy to make up "songs", my wife and I fight over who gets to play it next...should've bought two or three!
I will plan to buy a more professional harmonica for myself down the road because I really like playing the harmonica now that this one has introduced me to it. |
Great harmonica for the price

| I was really pleased with these harmonicas! I ordered 10 for birthday party favors, got a variety of colors and find them all very pretty (if one can call colorful translucent harmonicas pretty). They are nice and sturdy and all play very well. For the price, for kids, they are fabulous! |
Great fun for the price

| Bought 3 of these in different colors for a 4 year old and it's been great fun for the price. I'm not a harmonica expert and can't make a statement about the musical quality of the instrument, but at $[...], it's been worth the price. |

| I bought this just to see how easy or hard it was to play the harmonica. Well it seems really well built and sounds nice. If you just want to try out the harmonica this is a great inexpensive way to get your feet wet. |
2 year old loves it

| My 2 year old LOVES this harmonica- since we gave it to her a few days ago it's her favorite toy, the first thing she reaches for every time and she'll spend a long time playing with it. It seems very sturdy and well made - I did notice a few tiny teeth-marks along the edges where she was biting on it, but it doesn't look to be in any danger of falling apart or not working as well because of it. For a little plastic harmonica it's hefty, but not as heavy as a metal one. Nice bright vivid colors - the one we received was blue. |

Fast shipping. I've ordered twice. First came in color yellow. Next came in Red. Random colors they ship you.
Buyer can't choose.
My nephew loved the harmonica! Comes in a clear plastic case for hygiene purposes.
Has a Hohner logo on the lower right corner printed in black. Since I was giving to
my nephew, didn't try how it sounds so can't comment on quality. But for the price,
perfect for young child discovering wonderful harmonica!!! |
Colorful Plastic Hohner

| I bought one of these a few years back in Austria for 4 Euros: expensive! As another reviewer said, it plays like a low end Hohner, a little leaky and a little quiet. I prefer the Hohner Special 20. But the plastic harp is lightweight, and I keep it in my bicycle bag. I have been invited to play along on a blues street jam, and I pulled that thing out an could play fairly well. The cover isn't quite smooth, and I don't like that, but it is a good harp in a pinch. |
